    Plan Your Trip

Everything you need to book travel and make the most of your time on Nevis.

    Getting There

    Where to fly

Book into Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport in St. Kitts, airport code SKB. Do not book into Nevis. Most US routes connect through Miami, Charlotte, JFK, or San Juan.

    When to arrive

Thursday or Friday morning gives you room to breathe before the Friday evening Welcome Reception.

    Airport to Nevis

Book a private transfer before you fly. An operator meets you after customs, drives you across St. Kitts to the pier, handles your bags, and takes you to your hotel on the Nevis side — about 45 to 60 minutes door to door. They track your flight, so a delay is not a problem.

The public ferry between Basseterre and Charlestown is the budget option. It runs roughly hourly from 7 AM to 6 PM, takes 25 to 45 minutes, is cash only, and cannot be booked ahead. If you plan to use it, land by mid-afternoon.

    Getting home

Allow about three hours from your hotel to the gate at SKB. That covers the drive, the crossing, and check-in.

Please do not book a Saturday evening departure — programming runs through 8:30 PM Saturday.

    Getting Around Nevis

    • Taxis are easy to find and drivers are reliable.
    • Rental cars work well if you want to explore — you can circle the whole island in about 45 minutes.
    • Traffic drives on the left, and a temporary local driving permit is required — your rental agency issues it on the spot.
    • For dinner up in the hills, take a taxi rather than driving yourself. The roads are unlit.

    Money & Packing

The local currency is the East Caribbean dollar. US dollars are accepted almost everywhere, but several local spots prefer cash, so bring some.

    • Insect repellent — sandflies are real, especially at dusk on the beach
    • Reef-safe sunscreen
    • A light rain layer — passing showers are normal

October falls at the end of hurricane season. Flight disruptions are uncommon but not unheard of, and a basic travel insurance policy is worth considering.

    Lodging

    • Four Seasons Resort Nevis — the conference venue; every event is on property
    • Hamilton Beach Villas & Spa (more affordable option)
    • Montpelier Plantation Inn
    • Golden Rock Inn
    • A number of Airbnb listings across the island

Nevis has limited room inventory and October fills up — book as soon as your travel is set.

Please note that accommodations are not included or sponsored as part of the conference.

    What to Wear

There is no required dress code for any event — everything below is a suggestion.

    Friday Welcome Reception

Outdoors on the dock, 4:00 – 6:00 PM

You will be outside in full afternoon sun before it cools off around sunset, so plan for warm and breezy. Business casual works.

    Saturday Conference

    Indoors, air-conditioned ballroom, all day

Business casual. The ballroom runs cold, so bring a layer.

    Saturday Sunset Happy Hour

Outdoors at Dune Bar, 6:30 – 8:30 PM

Resort casual. Same as the conference, minus the layer.

    While You're on Nevis

Sunday is quiet on Nevis — most local spots close. If you are staying through Sunday, Sunshine's and Knick Knacks are your open options, along with the resort.

    Restaurants & Local Spots

Call ahead — these are small rooms and conference week fills them.

    • Sunshine's. A Nevis staple, a short walk up Pinney's Beach from the resort. Open daily. Try the fresh fish plate and a Killer Bee — take a taxi if you plan on a second. (869) 469-5817
    • Bananas. A jungle setting on the old Hamilton Estate, about a 10-minute drive inland. Closed Sunday. Take a taxi — the road up is dark. (869) 469-1891
    • Rodney's Cuisine. Authentic Nevisian cooking in Stoney Grove. A lunch stop rather than dinner — it closes by early evening and all day Sunday.
    • Knick Knacks Reggae Garden. A garden bar in Stoney Grove with fresh-juiced cocktails. Open late, every day. (869) 669-2310

    Outdoor Activities

The island is small enough to see a lot in a day.

    • Nevis Peak. A 4-to-5-hour hike to the summit. Locals strongly recommend hiring a guide, and they are right.
    • Pinney's Beach. Runs between Four Seasons and Sunshine's — a favorite spot on the island to watch the sunset.
    • Nevis Hot Springs. Thermal pools in a garden setting just outside Charlestown. Small entry fee for the facilities.
    • Nevis Artisan Village. Handmade local work rather than imported souvenirs. Monday to Saturday, closed Sunday.
